Show of hands, who knew I would not be able to stay gone? I see you. Of the thousands of people who read my blog…most of you know better than me that there will always be another great adventure outside my front door, and any idea I had written in my planner that my life will settle into a place of “comfort” is not-going-to-happen. Because comfort is for dead people.
All the responsibilities I had committed to – are done. By age, by chance, by…some things just end for the better. So, I guess I have lots of energy for all the goals I had with this blog and my online shenanigans – designs and what-nots. But first comes the purge.
As I remove the removable from my space and mind, there’s the obvious book choice, the life-changing magic of tidying up: the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing by Marie Kondo. And even if it is obvious, that doesn’t make it cliché. The book is twenty years old and the ideas in it are thousands of life times of attempts at creating order to control the daily pain of life as a human on this trauma inducing planet. Or, just being able to find matching socks in the morning.
I am not sure yet, if the 1500 word count is a good idea. It sure makes writing a quick post daunting. We’ll see. But we’re doing and even 278 today.
Now, I will be pairing down the important things to take with me to the next chapter of the book – of me, and what to leave behind.
See you on the other side, dear readers.
