Breaking Up Is Easy!

If this is the last post, you will know by the date. Has it been years since this was written and it’s on top of the Home page? Then breaking up was easy!

I started this blog for reasons that no longer seem like a good idea anymore. This writing experiment was fraught with emotional land mines, existential crisis, and ultimately, not sustainable. The point? To have a platform for my book loving and design work to come together in a kind of diary blog, simpatico book-life. And help the Rebel Alliance keep the conglomerates from taking over the world!

But, everything is different now. I moved back to California, my kids are all grown, and I just want to focus on ONE business and my art. Writers are even more less appreciated on the eve of AI than they were before. Feels like a lost cause, baby.

More than that, I need to get off this consume-to-the-death contest that society has been hypnotized into spending entire life times competing in. No meaning to anything, also means no amount of stuff is going to make the meaning mean more (see the last post for clarity on isisum (maybe)).

When I told my husband I was going to break up with the internet, he said, “Spoiler alert: not going to happen.” And, yeah, I am still going to do internet banking and bill pay, because these are the best and, really, only good things about the internet now. Oh, and learning Korean!

Look for me in real life, I’ll be the one holding out tangible items.

The first title that came to mind for a simpatico book to this post was, It’s Not You, It’s Me! And, golly gee, there are a lot of books with that title or variations on it. One stood out. And if it is the last book for the blog, I am thinking, perfect. I haven’t read it.

Cue “I Still Believe” by Tim Capello from The Lost Boys soundtrack.

Also, no more 1500 word rules to follow, so, bye!
